Aronia is a super berry. This is not a commercial blog so I won’t give you a comprehensive overview of its benefits (just follow the link already). I have read a little bit about the berry, watched some videos and came to believe it is kinda good stuff.
Since it was very hot here in Seoul, I did a little experiment. I froze a mixture of the following:
- Aronia powder (1 tablespoon)
- Brown sugar (1 tablespoon)
- Water (1 cup)
- Lemon juice (a few squeezes)
What came out was actually delicious! It tasted a little bit like green tea (because of the tannins/phenols) and reminded me of the Uruguayan drink yerba mate. So tonight I will freeze it again in order to have a slowly melting block of aronia ice that I can slurp up during my morning writing session.
